When I was in college, one of my professors said that, if you were to just objectively look at which life form this planet seems set up to support, you would never assume that it was humans, but bug–that they flourish in all kinds of environments and are adapted to the world and the world has adapted to them in such a way that this really is more their planet than ours. We’re just a flourish at the end of a letter on a long sentence about life on this planet, but most of those words are made up
